We’ve got Teddy that lived on the kids bed for years.We’ve got Army bear and Greenie that my son made for his birthday present several years at Build a Bear.There’s the Pooh Bear that was given to my youngest son when he was born.The more I thought about teddy bears and memories, the more special bears I found. He included a teddy bear and a cassette mix tape with some special songs for me to listen to. When I was in college, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) decided to send me a care package. What a fun time we had dreaming of the birth! Mom and Dad found the classic blue jean bear to bring to the hospital when he was born. We had several sewing machines and all got busy creating the blanket, bumper pad, curtains and decor. Do you remember that pattern and theme? My Grandma, aunts, sister and mom all got together for a night of sewing. When my first son was born, we decorated his room with the Blue Jean Teddy Bear theme. This album had all our favorites including “Good Ship Lollipop” and “I’m So Glad I’ve got Skin”. They sang the classic song Teddy Bears’ Picnic – The Persuasions in their classic acappela style. When my kids were little we had a CD that we listened to over and over by the Persuasions. One of the bears was for the newborn and the 2nd was to keep for the next generation. Gift Idea: I heard of one person who gave 2 identical teddy bears for a baby shower gift. My parents had a knot in a tree in their backyard so they turned it into a Pooh Bear tree. Who of us has not loved Pooh Bear and enjoyed the stories of Christopher Robin, Eeyore, Piglet and the Hundred Acre Woods. Of course the most famous of all teddy bears is Winnie the Pooh. It may not look like much now, but this teddy bear has been around for 40+ years and still gets a special place of honor beside my first Fisher Price baby doll. When I was going through my hope chest recently, I found a special rag-tag teddy bear that belonged to my husband when he was a toddler. Each stuffed animal has a story, so spend the picnic time sharing stories and memories of each friend! But the good part is that you can eat all the cookies yourself! Serve lemonade and cookies to all your guests.Set the table with teacups for each of your guests.So invite all your stuffed animals to come out and join your picnic.
